Old Demos

September 1st, 2009

Here’s 2 songs that Warners wouldnt let us put on our first record.I thinkthe old demo’s are our best work,it’s nowhere near as polished or slick but it’s a lot more honest and true to our lives at the time. There was a method to the madness of the early Brougham songs,we would hook a drum machine up to the stereo in my caddilac and drive around and make beats until they started serving lunch at The Brass Rail our local strip club. We’d Drink some beers, have breakfast, say hi to our friends at the club and then head to the studio to record what we’d come up with. We’d usually return to the Brass Rail around midnight and have em play the new song…..you know, just to make sure it was club worthy. After a month we the original 20 demos that got us the deal with Warners.

BLOG!!!!!

September 1st, 2009

ok, I actually have a blog that I’m gonna keep up to date. For privacy reasons I’m gonna code name bands I’m working with and be a little vague about those things cuz some people dont want their business posted, projects change and I’m just plain superstitious. To be honest I’m mostly keeping this thing as a reference because my memory is so bad and this way I can look back at what I was doing and when.Theres an MP3 player that I’ll add music to from time to time.At some point I will post a couple tracks off every record I’ve worked on with my memories of that project as they are getting cloudier everyday. I’ll try and find a way to section off all the technical nerdy recording stuff so non nerds dont have to suffer through.

Breed

This is a test to see if the audio player is working. The song is from my old band Snake River Conspiracy,if you like it go to iTunes and buy it.This is what I was doing in 2000,seems like a lifetime ago………If I had it all to do I’d keep it just the same………I just wouldnt go to the strip club to find a singer.
