I finished another SRC2 song today,we’re getting closer!! I’m thinking of starting a Kickstarter page to get the funding together to print vinyl. I’ve only worked on a few records that came out on vinyl and they sounded SO much better. Plus there’s the added bonus of the thrill of getting your record, unwrapping it,putting it on the turntable, rolling a joint on the cover, getting stoned and reading the credits and liner notes while listening to your new record. I’m sending a track off to the newest cohort of the SRC camp,Chris Cannella for a solo,I’m excited to hear what he does. I’ve been putting a lot of hours into a project I can’t talk about yet,but rest assured, this is the final push on the SRC record,it’s been over a decade between records and a lot has changed, but there’s still a strong common thread between records. The force is strong with this one.
Ok,I’ve finally gotten off my ass and started posting some of the rough mixes of what was to be the second Snake River Conspiracy record. I’ve added a song called Dying which was one of the first songs I started getting together. This version of the song has Martina Axen singing on it as her performance sounded a lot less forced than the version with Tobey singing it. The second song I posted is called Hide. It was written by Troy VanLeeuwen,Eddie Nappi and I. It was one of the last songs written for the record and has Tobey singing on it. Her performance kills on this one, I doubt anyone else could have pulled this one off, it’s one of my favorite songs we did, mostly because of Troy and Eddie’s work on it. I think out of all the time I lived in LA and all the different musicians I worked with those two guys were the most talented and most underrated players I’ve ever worked with. I hope we get a chance to do something together again before we’re too old, jaded and thrashed to enjoy it. More songs to come soon. If your interested in the stories behind the songs post a question and I’ll do my best to answer.
